The new home of the College of Education and the Tanner Dance Program, the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts and Education Complex, is now under construction and will be complete this December, 2013. The 110,000 sq ft Complex will create the nation’s premier academic hub of multidisciplinary collaboration for education, the arts, and science.

The new Complex will:
- will highlight the extraordinary power of partnerships, including unparalleled collaboration between the Colleges of Education and Fine Arts, programs within the Youth Arts Division, as well as philanthropists, other higher education institutions, public schools, arts groups and the local community.
- will create cutting-edge multidisciplinary spaces for teacher training and professional development in the use of an integrated curriculum model to help
children simultaneously explore multiple subjects, such as art and science, and improve overall learning in each subject area. - will expand arts integration efforts that have already reached more than thousands of children throughout the state and will eventually serve children in all Utah schools (see art works for kids! & Beverley Taylor Sorenson Elementary Arts Learning Program).
- will provide critical infrastructure for renowned University faculty and programs with the expertise to drive arts integration expansion.
- will house a newly created national Center for Research and Excellence in the Arts and Teacher Education guided jointly by the Colleges of Education and Fine Arts and focus on disseminating model arts integration research, resources and programming.
The interdisciplinary arts and education complex is named for Beverley Taylor Sorenson, a life-long advocate for arts education.
